The
best candidates are younger patients who have fatty
pouching in the lower neck associated with excess skin
and muscle laxity.

Incisions
are made behind the ears and below the chin. The extra
fat is first liposuctioned followed by a tightening
of the lower SMAS muscles in the neck including the
Platysma muscle in the mid-line of the neck. The extra
skin is then smoothed and adjusted laterally toward
the sides of the face and neck and the excess is trimmed.
A light dressing is placed around the neck. All sutures are removed by 12 days
and after 2 weeks all activities can be resumed.
